I have craved this Bonanza Chicken Monterey chicken for years and since I can't get it in Canada, I decided to create a copycat version of it. In the process of creating this recipe, I attempted to get a hold of everyone I remembered that worked with me at the restaurant all those years ago (and I was still friends with on Facebook) to see if I could piece the recipe together. After some Facebook messages and experimentation, this was the delicious result!
I love to marinate any meat, chicken or seafood, so I will give your recipe a try. It looks delicious amd I'm sure that marinating the chicken will add even more flavor to an already great recipe. Thanks for bringing back very fond memories for me.

Extra crispy chicken wings that are baked and not fried and ready to be dipped in homemade blue cheese sauce. This is how you make crispy chicken wings without frying. Serve them with my buffalo sauce and delicious and easy blue cheese sauce. These crispy baked wings are not only DELICIOUS but since they're baked, their so much more healthier!
Next thing you'll need is a cookie sheet. Put the baking rack inside of the cookie sheet. Spray your rack with cooking spray.Add the chicken to a bowl or ziploc bag. Add the salt and the baking powder and salt, then toss to coat evenly. Place the chicken wings on the rack in a single layer. Do not let the chicken touch.
If the chicken is touching they will steam and won't crisp up. Place the wings on the lower middle oven rack and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes do not remove the wings from the oven just raise the heat to 425F. Bake for 40-50 minutes until brown and crispy. Remove and let the chicken wings rest for 5 minutes then serve plain or serve with my not too spicy buttermilk buffalo wing sauce or your favorite sauce.
Hi Danielle, yes, you should shake the basket or flip the chicken wings halfway through cooking to let them cook evenly. This is included up in the post, but I just added it into the recipe directions on the bottom. Thanks!
Hooters makes a different kind of hot wing than you normally find. Hooters hot wings are battered. Most hot wing recipes simply fry the wings. But, by adding this crispy batter to the chicken wings, the outside of the wing gives you more flavor and more crunchy bits!
Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses are tossing up a great deal on their fried to perfection, boneless chicken wings. Now through December 4, guests who dine-in can enjoy six boneless wings for just $2.99 with the purchase of a buffet or entrée at participating locations.
I was well pleased with adding this to my oven baked chicken wings recipe below. I can also imagine how good it would be on BBQ Beef Ribs, one of my favorites, especially when slathered in a rich, sweet, tomato based sauce. You know, the kind that takes a whole roll of paper towels to get through. The messier the better. Right?
Place the wings, uncovered, in the refrigerator and let them stay overnight. This will dry the skin out a bit and cause them to have a nice crispy skin once they are baked. The corn starch will also help give the wings a fried chicken like texture.
Hello from Montana Steve!! I may live in the Montana but I still love southern comfort food. I am a fried chicken gal but these look SOOO good. I love the fact that they are baked and not fried. I have recently found your website and love your recipes. Nothing compares to good old fashioned home cooked food. Thank you for all of the new recipes.
Your recipe makes me hungry. They look great. I love barbeque wings. There are so many bbq sauces on the shelf for sale. It is hard to pick one sometimes. I have not seen Dimples in our stores. Looking forward to trying it if I can find it. Thanks for all the great recipes.
Hi Steve! Your play by play recipes are a GOD SEND!My favorite recipe for chicken wings is baking them and coating them with a sweet/hot sauce, one I usually have to make myself.I would love to try Dimples! I bet I would never have to make my own again!Glad you arrived home safe last evening. Stay warm! Cheers!
Oh my oh my, these sound so yummy! I have only ever had wings by Applebees, Ponderosa or Pizza Hut but I will definitely be doing my own now. I love wings without or with sauce. Thanks for the recipe and the little chuckle about the hole in your bag. ?
Your recipe looks delicious! I really prefer boneless wings, or even the little drumettes.I love the barbeque ones or even the buffalo wings, aslong as they arent too hot!! ?As always, keep the recipes coming!
